PATROL SERGEANT WILLIAM WILLIAMS

Sergeant William Williams has been with the Bent County Sheriff’s Office since January of 2019. Williams began his career with the Bent County Sheriff's Office as a Patrol Deputy, moving forward to become the School Resource Officer for the Las Animas School District. In January of 2020, Williams was promoted to Sergeant to oversee the operations of the Patrol Division. Williams is POST certified, School Resource Officer Certified, fully trained in Detentions and Dispatching.

Before working at the Bent County Sheriff’s Office, Williams served our Country as a combat medic for 12 years in the United States Army. Williams also served 35 years as a firefighter, obtaining certifications of Firefighter 2, Hazardous Materials Technician and Paramedic during that time. Deputy Williams has maintained his certification as an EMT Intermediate. Williams served as a Fire Investigator for 10 years with Fountain Fire Department.

Williams aspired to be a peace officer since his childhood and in 2017 Deputy Williams began to make that dream a reality. In December of 2017 Williams graduated from the Pueblo Police Academy.

When not working Williams enjoys the small town life Bent County offers. Williams is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys activities such as archery, scuba diving and riding horses and motorcycles. Williams has three grown children and three grandchildren.
